I posted about the Mardi Gras Parade known as Barkus last year and couldn’t resist revisiting the celebrations again. The parade has been run for many years by the Mystic Krewe of Barkus. They are a non-profit organization who donate the proceeds from the parade registration fees, merchandise sales, and profits from The Barkus Ball to worthy animal welfare groups every year. Impressively, over the past 20 years they have raised more than half a million dollars towards helping animals in need!
The theme of this year’s Barkus Parade was ‘Mission Impossible: Canine Protocol’ and after going through a lot of images, I have to say all I can see are loads of happy and very cute dogs having a really good time! I have cheated just a little and included a couple of pics from last year, but who cares, this is such a great event doing so much good! Thanks to the Krewe of Barkus for all you do and the many great pics you can find here. Also thanks to The Daily Beast for more of these precious images.
