We are so proud to have some truly wonderful organizations as part of our affiliate program. Today I’d like to highlight one of them and raise awareness of a couple of great initiatives (that you can join in with) to help raise money for their fabulous work.

Saving Shelter Pets Inc. is a small nonprofit animal welfare organization with supporters and volunteers located throughout the US. They save lives by rescuing animals from high-kill shelters and moving them to safe, no-kill rescues.

SSP relies solely on donations to continue their rescue and spay/neuter efforts – so your help is both needed and greatly appreciated.

Their goal is to eliminate euthanasia as a method of population control for homeless companion animals. The solution involves proactively addressing the problem of pet overpopulation with spay and neuter programs, and promoting education and awareness of the problems associated with overpopulation – including abandonment  and cruelty to pets.

So, to assist their Spay and Neuter program, SSP currently have an auction ‘Bidding for good‘ with 100 items donated. You can make your bid anytime up to and including 18th October. Time is getting short so head over to SSP Bidding for Good and make sure you tell everyone. There are so many great items you can bid on to help the animals!

SSP is also in the ‘Pepsi Challenge’ to win $25,000. At last look they were in 4th place – so please everyone, give just a little help to drive them to the $25,000 prize – Can you  imagine how much they can achieve with this amount?

They have teamed up with some other great shelters details here and it looks like they are in with a good chance. The plan is to conduct ten free spay/neuter clinics in the coming year (for family pets and captured feral cats).  Not only will this decrease turn-in rates at animal control because of fewer litters born, but it also offers the opportunity to educate pet owners about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets and the basics of responsible pet ownership.

NOTE: Voting for the Pepsi Challenge continues until 31st October and you can vote up to 3 times a day – please help.

SSP belongs to our affiliate program, and for every blanketID tag sold from the SSP link we happily donate $5 towards their work. We like to think that every blanketID tag can help return a pet home safely and thereby reduce the number of pets that end up in overcrowded shelters.
